  • City Of Sacramento Approves Major Expansion To Successful VTScada Installation
    Success In 2012 Sacramento s Department of Utilities DOU completed the first phase of their Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition SCADA Software Replacement Project which replaced their legacy GE Fix32 SCADA software with Trihedral s VTScada platform The 111 475 tag application provided monitoring and control for distributed water wastewater collections and distribution infrastructure A report to City Council by the Sacramento DOU cites the success of this system when recommending its expansion DOU has been very pleased with the performance of the VTS system and Trihedral Inc and is requesting the purchase of software upgrades licenses training and support in order to meet significantly increased need for controls and data acquisition from the SCADA system Meeting the Needs of a Growing City The report details the expanded application The Water Treatment Plant WTP Rehabilitation project Z14006000 has substantially increased the number of data points required for local and remote monitoring of the SCADA system and increased the number of licenses needed to allow Plant operators access to the SCADA system The recent opening of the DOU s Department Operations Center DOC has also increased the need for VTScada software licensing and support Additional licenses are needed at DOU facilities throughout the City for remote access to the SCADA system Training and support assistance is needed to ensure that the software upgrade is successful Department Operations Center DOC Facilitating Emergency Response From the report The DOC provides a centralized location for DOU staff security communications and facility operations monitoring during emergency events As part of the DOC operations DOU staff monitors the SCADA system during events using one VTS internet client license To accommodate higher SCADA use during DOC events DOU is requesting one additional VTS Thin Client license at this location Expanded Remote Access VTScada Thin Clients also known
