are each initiated through our grief suffering and angst and no one gets through life without some pain But we can fail to complete the Transformation if we try to ignore it or return to our ordinary life too quickly And the temptation is to abandon the initiation in mid stream It s painful and it s scary and there are no role models in our culture of what this Transformation looks like Our society gives us a week s bereavement or maternity leave or whatever and then expects us to be back to work back to normal If only it worked like that We must give the process its due and honour the changes that we experience We must allow ourselves to drift in confusion and feel all our feelings Only by going through the entire process consciously can we graduate to a higher level of awareness And Akhilandeshvari is here to show us how to do it How To Reverence A Goddess Like This The Goddess Akhilandeshvari doesn t promise to fix everything She doesn t promise to fix ANYthing She s not one of the those cozy Mother Goddesses you can go to to kiss it better and make everything alright Her power is not for the timid of heart She doesn t offer you a smooth ride but a wild and amazing one She doesn t offer a comfortable solution but an empowered one She doesn t give you security but she displaces your reality so thoroughly that you discover you ve actually been safe all along She happily receives your offering of everything you thought was real and important and gives you only one thing in return Direct personal experience of the Divine What Do You Pray To A Goddess Like That Well the only thing I can think to do is shout is the Rumi prayer dance the Hafiz tango sing the Hildegaard hymn Kill me Goddess Help me break apart and plant Yourself in the ashes Let only the Divine live here When your pain is too intense to bear your heart runs to Akhilandeshvari crying Nothing makes sense Nothing seems real Everything is entirely worthless And She hugs you and rocks you and laughs with delight that you are finally beginning to see the heart of Truth and the seed of Power and She agrees She will whisper in your ear Blessed are we who suffer for this prayer has been danced for us by the Universe and we find comfort in the Divine Then She invites you to dive into that nothingness and discover Everything Hang On To Her And Let Go Of Everything Else The Goddess Akhilandeshvari has been marginalized by Western society We who value control above all else can t even abide Her existence But She does exist And She can t be denied her due any longer She s very visible in the breaking of all the systems of the Earth and the glimmer of a bright

what words can express Worship of the Light is the practice that prepares us for this ultimate knowing of the Divine This is the value of meditating upon a candle flame or visualising yourself IN and AS Light The Light is also Love It is Ecstasy It is harmonious Peace You can visualize yourself in and AS any of these qualities with exactly the same results These are some of the primary qualities of the Divine Source In the same way that sound is vibration and vibration is not only sound but sight and speech and thought and form Everything in existence is vibration The Divine Light Because Light is the most subtle form we can visualise Light is often the best image of God for humans to work with Light is the most rarefied reflection of the Divine that we can imagine This is why the Divine Light Invocation is a magickal act When we send our visions and intentions into the Light we program that intention into the Energy Field that is the very essence of God If it is compatible with the Dream of God it will it MUST materialise If it is not you create disharmony between yourself and the Divine pushing Her away decreasing your joy and love and power But Light is often too subtle a form to engage our limited imagination So we as humans take one aspect one quality of the Divine at a time We give it a name a gender a mythology And we call it a Goddess or a God The Qualities Of The Divine These are the qualities of the Indivisible Divinity Focusing on any one of them will take you to a level of worship that is beyond any that you can achieve by focusing on a

  • 5 Moon-Tides * Wicca-Spirituality.com
land masses toward it Fire Tides Lunar tides also affect the fiery molten core of the earth causing it to surge and recede just like ocean tides This appears to be a major contributing cause of earthquakes Air Tides There is still another medium that the Moon affects This is the body of air that surrounds our planet The pocket of air around the Earth reaches up about 60 miles It weighs an incredible five million billion tons This is equivalent to 33 feet of water flowing over the surface of the Earth The Moon has a tide affect in this air mass changing the height or thickness of the atmosphere every day When it is overhead the Moon s gravity pulls the atmosphere toward itself sometimes by as much as 25 This means that in certain phases of the Moon the atmosphere bulges out an extra 15 miles This creates higher pressure where the Moon is and lower pressure where it is not Then when the Moon sinks below the horizon the atmosphere again grows more compact This is a major force in affecting weather Weather is in fact what happens when the atmosphere is pulled around the planet by the Moon There is evidence that almost every cyclone tornado volcanic eruption and earthquake is associated with a significant moon position Even thunderstorms seem to be created when the Moon is in a certain phase and position Yet fantastically the Moon s tides are not taken into consideration in weather forecasting Maybe this is why the forecasts are so often wrong In comparison folklore has much to say about how the Moon affects the weather So why is the Moon so effectively ignored in modern weather forecasting According to Ken Ring author of Predicting the Weather by the Moon In their all out zeal to rewrite our universe so history would be more palatable 17th century theologians made as much distance as they could between Christian society and that symbol of everything pagan the Moon There was no room for the Christian god in the old moon oriented science which dictated that climate and weather were cyclically predictable and the hand of God was a non issue Blood Tides There is a last and still contentious Moon tide The effect of the Moon s tides on living beings It is surprising that there is so vehement a rejection of this idea in scientific circles Considering the massive documented effect that the Moon has on every system in our planet it seems like simple hubris to assert that it doesn t affect us Perhaps this can be explained in terms of bigotry There are certain taboo subjects in science which puts them outside the purview of rational investigation despite all supporting evidence And on a micro scale there is plenty of evidence of the Moon s tidal effect on living organisms Reproduction The most noticeable to humans is the monthly Moon tide in the endocrine system of half the human

crevasses so the ocean might be only a kilometer deep all over the planet The overall effect would be days that are always clouded freezing cold nights and strong winds There would be little air because plant life couldn t exist without access to sunlight And without the plants animals would not exist Another factor is that without its atmosphere our planet wouldn t be protected from the full effect of the Sun s heat in the daytime nor the extreme cold of space at night And we can only wonder what affect the absence of Grandmother Moon might have on the 5th tide the tide of biology and reproduction It makes you wonder whether any planet Earth or other without a moon could give rise to life at all In many ancient cultures the Moon was the symbol of life itself All over the world The Moon was honoured as the source of fertility and growth This belief has a lot more basis in fact than ancient people were given credit for Grandmother Moon may indeed be responsible for bringing life to our planet and then to us one generation removed from Her Grandmother Moon is indeed like a mandala of life With Bright Blessings Good Books About The Moon Predicting the Weather by the Moon Grandmother Moon Next Article on the Moon If you enjoyed this article please Stumble it It only takes a second to share the good stuff with other seekers If You Liked This Wicca Spirituality Article You May Also Enjoy These Related Articles New material is always added please subscribe to our RSS Blog or The Silver Chalice E zine to receive updates and unique articles Dream Analysis Dream Analysis is the fun part of dream work This method helps you interpret your dreams

cycle we are watching a living mandala in action How To Tell If The Moon Is Waxing Or Waning The Waxing Moon begins on the right side of the moon It grows from right to left This is in the Northern Hemisphere In the Southern Hemisphere this is opposite If you flatten your right hand with all your fingers together and hold it out at arm s length it makes a curve like a backwards letter C If it looks like an L tilt your thumb toward the ground See it This is the way that the Waxing Moon looks It would fit into the curve between your thumb and fingers You might find this easy to remember when you consider that for most people the right hand is the active doing giving hand This is the energy of the Waxing Moon And this is the hand that looks like a waxing shape Another memory cue is to think of making candle magick you would write in the candle wax and if you re in the majority you d use your right hand So right hand is waxing hand If you do the same with your left hand you get the direction of the Waning Moon The left in Wicca is the hand of releasing undoing and receiving The Waning Moon with this same energy echoes the shape of the left hand C shape A memory tip for remembering that waning means the Moon is getting smaller is to remember that waning means weakening the Moon s light is getting weaker And weakening has the word waning hidden within it W e A k e N I N G Moon Phase Wicca Magick The Moon phase must be taken into account whenever working magick or Wiccan spell casting Each phase of the Moon has its own energy and its own Power When spell casting as mentioned in the Essence of Magick the more you can align with the flow of Universal Energy the more powerful your Wiccan spells will be So the phases of the Moon become crucial information to a magickal Witch What are the Powers of the various phases of the Moon Here s a handy dandy chart to guide you Powers of the Moon Phases The Moon is in magick the way it is in life Each moon phase generates an energy flow If you want to work magick with the Moon which is one of the most important ways to enter into the flow of Magick you must perform your spells in harmony with the Moon s phase Below is a list of Moon phases and the energy they create This will tell you when the best time is to work any magick spell New Moon New beginnings fresh starts optimism hope and faith Waxing Moon Building accomplishments creativity strength growth and learning positive transformation Full Moon Abundance harvest wish fulfillment manifesting desires sexuality achieving all dreams protection Waning Moon Letting go clearing away cleansing releasing

  • The Moon In Wicca * Wicca-Spirituality.com
We know the makeup of Her physical form rock and dust We know She doesn t shine from within but in reflection of the Sun Yet still She holds powers we scarcely fathom For instance the Moon s tidal influence on all the elements is astounding And the power of the Full Moon to effect humans and other animals even the weather continues despite Her scientific classifications In my view what we know about the Moon only increases the relevance She holds for spiritual seekers and mystics Now more than ever She becomes a symbol to us of what is possible For what are we but dust What light do we shine with but the Light from a sublime Source This is the Light that is at the core of all religions The pure white light of the Moon represents this perfectly The Wiccan practice of Drawing Down The Moon is one way we connect with this Light Wiccans today draw down the Moon to fill ourselves with the Light that is the Creative Essence of the Universe Today the Moon to those of the Wicca religion is just as mysterious and magickal just as wonderful and sacred as She was to our ancestors Today perhaps we see the Moon even more as our distant ancestors did before the divisions of religion Perhaps they too saw Her as the Essence of Divine Light that is available to us all The importance of the Moon in Wicca cannot be overestimated For all of these reasons for the Feminine Energy She conducts reverence for the Moon continues to be at the heart of Wicca spirituality Celebrations of the Wiccan Moon Phases Witches generally celebrate at least some of the Moon cycles The Full Moon is the most commonly celebrated Wiccan Holy Day Others may also celebrate the Dark Moon or New Moon Wiccans honour the Moon during Her Full phase with celebrations called Esbats But all the phases of the Moon are important to Witches especially when it comes to doing ritual or working magick Because the Full Moon has a different energy different powers than say the Dark Moon or the New Moon Wiccans plan certain rituals or spells to align with those energies A spell for starting a new job or relationship for instance would not be done at the time of the Waning Moon when the energy is flowing towards endings But a spell for ending an unhappy situation would be perfect for the weeks of the Waning Moon So the Moon influences the practice of Wicca from top to bottom She encompasses the qualities of Wisdom and Magick She represents life s greatest Mysteries And She generates an ever flowing energy field that Wiccans attune to and cooperate with As hard as it is to imagine Wicca without magick what would Wicca be without the Moon With Bright Blessings If you enjoyed this article please Stumble it It only takes a second to share the good stuff with

  • Moon Worship In History * Wicca-Spirituality.com
though She was known as the dread Queen of the Dead that is the Goddess of the Underworld Today we may take that appellation at face value and see ancient Persephone as a Maiden Goddess But at the time I imagine it was a more ironic nickname The Only Constant Is Change If there is one constant about the Moon it is that She is ever changing The evolution from one Moon phase to another dying and being reborn without end is the signal characteristic of the Moon Anyone who worships Her also celebrates this cycle Like a Mandala re creating itself each month the Moon is always seen as a source of Creative Energy Moon Worship in Religions Perhaps the Moon s crucial contribution to existence is the reason that so many religious celebrations are timed with the Moon especially the Full Moon Although Moon worship has long been absent from the world s dominant religions She still has a subtle influence behind the scenes Here are just a few examples Easter Sunday the most important Christian festival is celebrated on the first Sunday after the first Full Moon that follows Spring Equinox This holiday then sets the dates for later festivals Chinese New Year occurs on the second New Moon after Winter Solstice The Mid Autumn Festival takes place on the Full Moon of the 8th lunar month These two holidays are the most important celebrations in the Chinese calendar Jewish Passover is always celebrated at the Full Moon The Hindu festival of Lights Diwali takes place at the New Moon when the Sun enters Libra Add to this list Please write me with details With Bright Blessings Next Article on the Moon If you enjoyed this article please Stumble it It only takes a second to share
