  • Lucid Dreaming Day 2015
outside The signals were coming from another world the world of dreams and they were as exciting as if they were emanating from some other solar system in space Dr Keith Hearne Hearne s EOG experiment was formally recognized through publication in the journal for The Society for Psychical Research Unfortunately this fell short of the required reading material for most relevant experts and his work went widely unknown A few years later in 1983 Dr Stephen LaBerge performed another ocular signaling experiment at Stanford University He went on to forge a lifelong career in the field of lucid dream research and is a widely known expert on the subject often credited for being the first to scientifically verify lucid dreaming The media fell in love with the romantic idea of lucid dreaming being a real phenomenon and today it frequently hits the headlines curiously in both science and paranormal media streams Clearly both Hearne and LaBerge have played significant roles in this field and it s important that we recognize both of their contributions over the years But on April 12th we ll remember the Neil Armstrong of lucid dreaming the humble shop worker Alan Worsley and his landmark eye movement signals to Dr Keith Hearne working through the night in his sleep research lab Why Awareness Means a Better Future for Lucid Dreaming Increasingly lucid dreaming is becoming a household term Musical albums Hollywood movies and science fiction novels have all contributed to its presence in our popular culture in the last decade We already have great momentum behind us To keep raising awareness of lucid dreaming as a regular nocturnal pastime means that more students of tomorrow will Launch their own quest for lucid dreaming Enter the field of sleep and dream research Develop lucidity induction technologies Explore lucid dreams as a therapeutic tool Use dreams to create lucid music art and literature Solve problems and invent technologies in their dreams Not only will greater interest lead directly to new developments in our lucid dream technology from induction devices to dream playback machines and even experiencing shared dreams one day it will also afford us huge opportunities to better ourselves as individuals and mankind as a whole I believe that if every human being were to start harnessing the power of lucid dreams then our culture art technology medicine science and beliefs would quickly evolve in a whole new direction The human race would be enriched as a result both individually and universally That certainly gives us something to strive for on Lucid Dreaming Day Share email facebook tumblr twitter reddit google pinterest Your Gateway to Lucid Dreams Some people dream to sleep Others sleep to dream Start now About the author Rebecca Turner is the creator of World of Lucid Dreaming where she offers valuable first hand insights Learn more about Rebecca Take her home study program Connect with her on Facebook Twitter and the lucid dream forum Latest Extraordinary fantasy art by Jeremiah Morelli Jeremiah

  • How to Master Lucid Dreaming... Inception Style!
aware This mentality filters through to the dreamworld so that you may even have your first lucid dream tonight You can use your own totem if you like I prefer to look at my hands An ideal totem is a digital watch not only does it chime on the hour to remind you to check your reality which you can hear in your sleep it is also electronic For some reason electronics don t work in dreams Light switches in particular often fail to function And because a digital watch display requires the language centers of the brain to be active telling the time can be very difficult indeed This is a dead giveaway that you are dreaming To fast track the process start to meditate There is a proven link between meditation and lucid dreaming People who meditate regularly ie who enter altered states of awareness on demand improve their ability to relax deeply visualize intricate dream scenes communicate with their inner self and question their self awareness It s ideal practice for lucid dreaming I have improved my lucid dreaming skills through meditation by listening to brainwave entrainment I highly recommend it Through precisely calculated soundwaves it relaxes your brain into a deeper state of awareness using the frequency following response It s scientifically proven to help you meditate and provides a backdoor to lucid dreams and out of body phenomena Is Inception Real In the movie Cobb penetrates other people s minds using a fictional piece of technology that enables shared dreams called PASIV Inception s creators had to make up an elaborate set of rules to create drama using PASIV These were rules that don t exist in real life such as in order to wake up you have to kill yourself in the dream Or if you die in a level 2 dream a dream within a dream you will be sent to your own personal dream limbo for eternity Suffice to say that none of this is true in the real world of lucid dreaming But what of dream telepathy and shared dreams Is it possible to communicate with each other in lucid dreams Robert Waggoner advanced lucid dreamer and author of Lucid Dreaming Gateway to the Inner Self believes it might be He discusses this idea at length in his book and provides real life studies to support his case So often our inner world seems the least explored one Waggoner says In lucid dreaming we have a revolutionary psychological tool to investigate inner reality Hopefully science will take this bit of fiction seriously and see what experienced lucid dreamers have been discovering about the actual nature of lucid dreaming Share email facebook tumblr twitter reddit google pinterest Your Gateway to Lucid Dreams Some people dream to sleep Others sleep to dream Start now About the author Rebecca Turner is the creator of World of Lucid Dreaming where she offers valuable first hand insights Learn more about Rebecca Take her home study program

  • The Good Night: DVD Review
Majesty s Secret Service complete with dinner jackets and cocktail dresses In a world where literally anything is possible Gary conjures up swimming pools race tracks and a recurring beachside house He shows very little imagination despite claiming I m the best dreamer there is Maybe the budget was too small or the writer s own lucid dream experiences too limited but a little CGI or inspired set dressing would have made all the difference However I was impressed by the film s courage to tackle the theme of lucid dreaming literally and for that it should be commended Having said that other lucid dreaming movies which haven t gone head on to the topic deal with it in a more subtle successful and lucid dream like way Nevertheless the soundtrack is fit for the purpose and sounds great light bouncy and wistful The Good Night Review The Good Night instantly appealed to me due to its subject matter and keen comedy cast But after watching it I was a little frustrated It presents the art of lucid dreaming as a fruitless activity ending in sadness It does not represent lucid dreaming in an accurate light a way to enjoy and utilize your dream time and gain greater insights Instead there was an underlying feeling that lucid dreaming is used solely to generate sexual and lifestyle fantasies Lucid dreamers will feel misrepresented and the uninitiated will be confused My rating is 2 5 out of 5 stars Fans of UK comedy star Simon Pegg will not want to miss his latest performance although Martin Freeman leaves something to be desired In spite of The Good Night s faults the supporting cast are genial and the concept is enjoyable enough Worth a watch Read customer reviews on Amazon Share email facebook tumblr twitter reddit google pinterest Your Gateway to Lucid Dreams Some people dream to sleep Others sleep to dream Start now About the author Rebecca Turner is the creator of World of Lucid Dreaming where she offers valuable first hand insights Learn more about Rebecca Take her home study program Connect with her on Facebook Twitter and the lucid dream forum Latest Extraordinary fantasy art by Jeremiah Morelli Jeremiah Morelli is a whimsical fantasy artist and visual storyteller He places conceptual fairytale creatures in vivid dreamscapes to capture the imagination He s also a school teacher and amazingly finds the time and motivation to create this huge gallery of artwork Such light and dark fairytale paintings make beautiful places to visit in your lucid dreams Latest 12 awesome Inception style dreamscapes Inspired and named for the notion of Flatland artist and photographer Aydin Buyuktas has created a series of works where a space of surprises creates a space that creates surprises Based on photos of Istanbul Buyuktas explains We live in places that most of the times don t draw our attention places that transform our memories places that the artist gives another dimension where the perceptions that generally crosses
