my body didn t go in sleep paralysis so after maybe 30 seconds I just stopped because it didn t seem like it was gonna happen I know it doesnt take long to get into sleep paralysis so Can anybody tell me what I might have done wrong I ve read that it feels like your body is pressed on or something I didn t feel anything like that Post made via Android Tom538 Posts 1 Joined 01 Feb 2016 08 49 Top Re Tried WILD body almost went to sleep but it didn t by taniaaust1 03 Feb 2016 06 38 know this is supposed to happen but it just stayed like that my body didn t go in sleep paralysis so after maybe 30 seconds I just stopped because it didn t seem like it was gonna happen I You are being far too impatient giving up after 30 seconds give yourself 20 45 mins in that state just simply stay relaxed and observe the situation as you allow yourself to go to sleep Second you are aiming for wrong thing you should aim for a LD state rather then sleep paralyses many experience sleep paralyse and still don t LD and not everyone who LDs experiences sleep paralyse that is just something which may be a side affect of heading towards right state anyway you started off well relaxing and staying aware but then quit too soon And get rid of any notiions you have of your body needs to feel like this or that it will feel different to different people as you head towards right state some may feel very heavy others may feel very light Whatever you feel if it doesn t pull you away from the state you can imagine intensifying to help

a link for an explanation and a list of reality checks that you ca perform http www world of lucid dreaming com reality checks html If you re not able to question whether you re dreaming when you re awake you won t be able to ask yourself in a dream DILDs will never work if you aren t performing reality checks WILDs aren t easy to induce when you are going to bed for the night as it usually takes longer to enter the dream state and you ll usually lose consciousness I suggest you try the WBTB method in combination with the WILD to have a successful lucid dream Don t get discouraged if you don t get it right away Like any skill lucid dream requires time and effort Good luck dreamer Post made via iPhone darkryder Posts 2 Joined 17 Jan 2016 06 27 Top Re I m too agitated to do Part 1 of WILD by Minmus 03 Feb 2016 02 41 Yeah I try to do reality checks but I tend to forget to do them very easily as I spend most of my time in the computer courtesy of holidays I d like to do the WBTB method but problem is I live in a small apartment so I have to share my bedroom with others as a result I can t set an alarm because I ll end up waking up the others Minmus Posts 3 Joined 02 Feb 2016 22 46 Top Re I m too agitated to do Part 1 of WILD by taniaaust1 03 Feb 2016 05 01 if you forgot to do reality checks during day there is little chance you will remember doing one in a dream as they often need to be like a habit to trigger doing one in a dream Good visualization skills do not necessarily help much in LD as one still needs to get oneself into the right kind of state for a LD before those visualisation skills can be useful in pulling one into a dream of ones choice In fact trying to visualise for some can pull some away from a dream state as it can mentally activate the mind more and for some stop them then getting into the right state for sleep and a LD state So whether this will be helpful for you or not ONCE you do manage to get into the right state for a LD remains to be seen any kind of agitation will work against you when trying to LD as the more relaxed you can be the better you will be able to get into the right state For yourself if you want to do WILD you probably need to do some ground work and practice just relaxation mediations and master getting into still and relaxed states before you try anything else or avoid WILD entirely mind wave entertainment kind of tapes ones which get your mind into certain states could help

and appreciate about anyone that might be within your extended bubble now Expand further Continue expanding your bubble and the compassion you feel for those with it step by step to encompass your entire house then your block then your city then your state then your country then your hemisphere then the entire world Visualize it and allow yourself to find at least 1 thing to appreciate and have compassion about everyone and everything Forgive Think about someone that you feel has wronged you in some way recently and imagine they are standing before you Then in your mind tell them you forgive them and hope they will also forgive you any injustices you may have done against them Accept Next imagine that every creature and person on the planet is responding to the compassion you felt for them by sending their own acceptance appreciation and compassion to you Allow yourself to accept these positive intentions from everyone toward you Envision Now imagine the day ahead of you as you would like for it to be If you were to be the movie director for your perfect day how would you want it to be That s how you should visualize it now Take your time with this section as it should be the longest part of your session Be as detailed as you can be and try to feel it as fully as you can Gratitude Thank yourself for being so accepting and loving toward yourself and for envisioning an amazing day that you can look forward to Do your best to feel thankful as if you have been given a gift of seeing how wonderful your day can be End the session Take a few deep breaths as you allow your awareness to spread to where your body is and your immediate surroundings With each breath allow yourself to feel more awake and aware until you are ready to open your eyes and get on with living the day you envisioned This meditation usually takes a beginner about 15 to 20 minutes to do but can be done in as little as 5 minutes once you have practiced it for a while I also suggest a bedtime meditation which is shorter still and helps to relax priming you for a good night of rest Here are the steps for that Prepare Relax in a comfortable sitting position in your bed and close your eyes Breathe in thru your nose slowly until your lungs are full Hold that breath for a few seconds and then let it out slowly thru your mouth Repeat this 3 to 6 times while letting go of any of the stresses you feel from your day with each exhale Review the good Think about at least 3 good things you enjoyed about the day and what about them you enjoyed most Allow yourself to relive and feel how those moments made you feel Review your concerns Think about your 2 biggest concerns about the coming day and imagine you are placing those concerns into a small box with a hinged lid The things in this imaginary box are the things you want your subconscious to help you work on while you sleep Then set that aside so you don t have to concern yourself with it for now Select your target Select 1 thing place event person etc you would like to dream about and do your best to visualize it in as much detail as you can Allow yourself to feel what you might feel if that was your dream and how you might like to experience it Lay down Open your eyes only as much as you need to and gently lay down in your bed and get comfortable Drift prompt As you continue thinking about your dream target allow your control over it to relax and just enjoy however your mind expands on what you are imagining Do this as you allow yourself to drift off to sleep That s all there is to a productive meditation practice I have thought about making an MP3 for a guided meditation of this practice but I haven t yet done so There are some other guided meditations that are similar to this but most of them add in extra stuff which I haven t found to be especially beneficial for anything and can even become distracting making it more difficult to achieve your goals I use the same reality checks every time But I don t know what else I can do This could be a significant part of what s been obstructing you I try my best to make each RC reality check as unique as I can that way they don t become automatic Otherwise you could be doing them in your sleep and never even know it I commented about how to mix things up when it comes to RCs in this thread http www world of lucid dreaming com forum viewtopic php f 4 t 17334 Especially since I usually dream about things that I never ever see in the real life so it s hard for me to for example do a reality check when I see something that is repeating in my dreams What are other things I could be doing It sounds like you may be able to identify some dream signs if you see some things repeatedly in your dreams that you don t see in waking life You may want to read some of the articles here on dream signs As for some other types of RCs have a look at the thread I gave above and give those a try There are also other suggestions for RCs if those don t work out for you either after a while When you are doing a reality check which outcome are you expecting more often To be awake or to be dreaming To be awake what does that mean When you do a reality check

No more videogames by Carter Blunt 30 Jan 2016 14 52 I have the same problem And yeah laying off the videogames can help but it would probably take a while to get rid of them completely But if you keep having dreams about the same game like in my case GTA5 online every night I would dream about it Shooting grenades at grenaders shooting rockets at rocketers stunt jumping melee juggling etc Sometimes it was fun like when I was in a speed boat Other times it was exactly like playing the videogame only while asleep But I also had a dream just the other night that I was getting attacked by a Skyrim werewolf and was trying to kill him then accidentally turned into a werewolf myself and had to finish him off in werewolf form by knocking him to the ground and doing the 3 hit power attack A few weeks before that I had a dream that I was using Saints Row gameplay against the banana men in Prototype 2 or something in the yellow radiation suits I haven t played either Skyrim Saints Row or Prototype in months I d also have to disagree that it helps with lucid dreaming In none of the above dreams did I become lucid And none of my lucid dreams have had anything at all to do with videogames Even when I m actively in the dream and menus pop up I don t have a clue I m dreaming I used one of these menus to skip ahead spawned on top of some girls heads in a public pool and had no clue I was dreaming Carter Blunt Posts 26 Joined 15 Dec 2015 11 36 Top Re How can I have more vivid dreams No more videogames
